There was lots of laughter and giggling around here this morning. Benjamin has never said my name, preferring to call me "Lee-Lee" from the start. Emily is always sitting him down and running him through his ever expanding vocabulary. "Ben, say boat. Say Marge. Say macaroni." He obliges her on every one with a big grin on his face until she comes to "Say Lisa". He'll shake his head from side to side and yell "LEE-LEE!!" then laughs. This morning when I came downstairs he hollered "Hi!! Me eat cereal down here with Em!" which is a pretty hefty sentence for a two year old. He then continued to jabber on about his cereal, feeding cows, watching Sponge Bob, etc." I remarked to Todd that his vocabulary increases so much during the two weeks between visits and wondered if he would say my name this weekend. Todd said "Benjamin, who is that?" and pointed at me. Ben says "Lisa" just plain as day without even looking up from his cereal. It suddenly dawned on him that he had actually said it. He grabbed Emily by the hair and pulled her ear over to his mouth and yelled "LISA!!! LISA!! LISA!!!" over and over. They don't call him Racket Boy for nothin'...

Todd and the gang have gone off to a birthday party, Christopher is with his dad so it's just me today. I told Todd last night that I was going to do absolutely nothing today. It's been a few years since I've had a day to do nothing. Looks like today won't be that day either. It's absolutely pouring rain so the basement floor has little creeks running through it. Whatever laundry doesn't get done accumulates on the basement floor and if it's left on a wet basement floor for even a day it'll be ruined. It only takes once to learn this lesson loud and clear. Laundry it is then!

The real reason Al went to Canada.

Sometimes people amaze me. I just read a poll on CNN that showed the majority of voters believe it's not plausible that Hillary Clinton didn't know about her brother's role in the applications for pardon of Carlos Vignali Jr. and Almon Glenn Braswell. People please. My brother lives 15 miles away from me. We talk at least once a week for an hour or more. I do hope no one thinks I know all of his business. I am too busy keeping track of myself to worry about much of what he's up to. I'm thinking Hillary Clinton is probably just a little bit busier than I am. I'm sure my old pal Pete will read this tomorrow and chock it up to me being a democratic femi-nazi. Save the email Peter. No way are you going to convince me that she has the time or the inclination to give a damn what her family members are doing.

Pardon scrutiny, too many gifts, picking out his New York office... no matter what Clinton does, there's someone there to bitch and bitch loudly. Crap like this is what makes truly decent people not run for the office. I think it's disturbing that the bulk of Americans really seem to care about what this guy's doing now. He's gone. I find that unfortunate myself but hey, that's just me. Fact is he really is gone. We have a new President now so let's move on, 'k?

While we're on the topic of disturbing... Todd is once again checking out V-Max motorcycles on ebay. Very disturbing. I may have to break his ebay shortcut key

Most of my visitors will not even begin to understand all the ways in which this is funny. Or maybe I'm just tired. Things strike me as awfully funny when I'm tired.

As I said yesterday morning, I was going to watch the Daytona 500. I have always been a tremendous supporter of Robert Yates Racing. I mourned the loss of Davey Allison in '93 and paced the floors for hours after Ernie Irvan's near fatal accident. Through it all I hated Dale Earnhardt. He was the biggest threat to anyone and everyone on the track. I cussed him religiously on racing Sundays. My cousin Tim was one of his biggest fans and sometimes I hated him too. Not really but Earnhardt fans always gloated a little too much and a little too well. He gave them reason to.. the guy was just that good. Now he's gone and I feel an overwhelming sadness for his fans and even for myself. He took something he loved to do, figured out how to become the best at it and made a whole lot of money along the way, too. Some people said there's consolation in the fact that he died doing what he loved best. I like King Richard's comment better... "don't put a question mark where God put a period." All I know for sure is that the sport will never ever be the same.

Today I will do laundry, clean the house and sort out more stuff to sell on eBay while watching the Daytona 500 and installing service packs and security patches to a webserver. Ahhhh... lazy Sundays : )

Sorting out stuff will be the hardest chore. I look around and can't see anything that I can't live without but each thing has some kind of memory attached to it. From 1992 to 1998 I collected holstein cows. I have a gazillion of them sitting on shelves and hanging on walls. With the exception of the very first one that I bought myself, each one was a gift from someone. Some things I think would better served if I passed them on to someone special; like the cow hanging in the downstairs bathroom.. it says "So this isn't home sweet home... ADJUST!!" It was given to me by my mom so I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it to an unknown stranger on eBay. I would get a chuckle out of sending it to a certain friend whom I know runs her household on the same philosophy. I might just do that. Everyone watch your mailboxes! Lisa's cleaning house!! : )
