I have found a guaranteed way to irritate the dog by making fun of his lineage. Maybe it's the tone of my voice when I say it or maybe he's truly offended... regardless, all I have to do is say "Your mama's a bassett!" and he tries to tear my ankles to shreds. He's just too cute.
Last night I took him with me to pick C. up from my aunt's house. She has a min pin named Zoey. They are the same height but Zoey is very slim and trim with long legs like a gazelle. Dozer is... well... his mama's a bassett and his daddy's a rottweiler. You do the math.
Zoey bounces and I mean really bounces... from place to place like she has springs on the bottom of her feet. She would leap about three feet in the air and pounce down onto Dozer. This would knock him over onto his back, rendering him defenseless. He's like a turtle when he gets flipped over. Takes a lot of work to get himself upright again.
After about 10 minutes, he finally remembered that he is part rottweiler and started "rott slammin'" her. He'd hit her full on with his shoulder and sorta roll into/onto her. Dogs are so much fun. Remind me that it was me who said that when Dozer weighs 100 pounds and still tears at my ankles, okay?
Today was crazy. I started on one thing at 8 this morning and before I knew it, it was afternoon and I'd done a dozen things. It's all good but one of these days I am going to quit at 5pm and do nothing. (yeah right)
Todd posted about the loaner car already. I don't have much to add to that except for it's not a bronze color. It's a butt ugly taupe and he's right, it's not a Buick. I wouldn't trade my Buick for three taupe Pontiac Sunfires. I might trade it for four... I could sell them all and buy a brand spankin' new Buick.
