Check it out! Hoopty made me a button!

I was reading about kitty litter boxes over at Mike's and remembered that I wanted to order one of these. I wonder if it really works. It sounds like it would and it's way cheaper than the automated mechanical litter boxes.

I can't order anything yet since I spent my extra money on kitchen carpet today. Less than $100 to replace that nasty orange/brown/yellow crap that is in there now. Of course we'll have to lay it ourselves. That could take awhile since we're never home/awake at the same time for longer than an hour or two.

After the carpet shopping, C. and I headed to my brother's to check out the progress of his frisbee golf course. Most guys have a midlife crisis and get a girlfriend to supplement the wife or trade in the station wagon for Corvette. Not my brother. He buys 35 acres and a chain saw so he can clear timber and make a place for people to throw discs at baskets. At any rate, it was a fun day.

It's supposedly snowing here. The weatherman said it was snowing at 6pm and it wasn't. Now they are saying it may accumulate to three inches overnight. I just looked out again and still nothing. I think they are reading last year's forecasts and radar. Dummies.

Todd wants to see the movie Black Hawk Down. I have read some things about how hard it is for Hollywood to accurately depict history. This morning's paper has an interesting read about two Iowans who were there. If you are interested in military history, you should go read Iowa soldier: Somalia film close to reality.

I can be very superstitious about sharing news before the event actually happens. Too often I've opened my mouth and blabbed about something that later fell through. I've been packing a little tidbit around in my brain for a couple of months and haven't said a word here for fear of jinxing now. Now it's happened so I can babble and boast - Bart has made it to Italy to study abroad at NYU!!

If you are using internet explorer and roll over the Trabaca link in my link's list, you'll see it says "my adopted internet son". I met him through the HTML Writer's Guild almost four years ago and was immediately impressed by how smart he was. He had the IQ and moxie of a 35 year old but every once in awhile something would happen that would reveal his true youth. Like when volkswagen introduced the new beetle, right Bart?

Anyway, I gotta get to work so I'll cut this short. Last night on the Survivor special the recurring theme was that if you can dream it, you can do it. Bart is my real life example of that. I could never find the words to say how proud I am of him for staying focused and turning his dreams into reality.

I received the best medicine for crankiness this evening. Todd went after his kids for a bit and Emily hit the door with a bang and flew straight to me and was practically on my shoulders before I knew what hit me. Nothing like my favorite little girl in the whole world with a stockpile of hugs she's been hording away since Christmas... it's the best.

We took all the kids to the DQ for a treat and Ben decided he might need to puke. Luckily, his definition of puke is the same as our definition of spit so he just did some spitting and all was well.

To top off the evening we are going to our friend Brent's to take pictures of a very fast car. (oh, and the hamster was buried today... not flushed. Sorry Dan but I can always appeal to Todd's softer side.)

Final bill for the sewer... $830. Oh, and the hamster died. Somebody wake me when the tide starts to turn....
