Waylon Jennings has died. Because of this, Todd will be subjected to me belting out such tunes as:

Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Make 'em be doctors and lawyers and such...

I love old country music. George Jones, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty.... quite the contrast to the other stuff I listen to - although Kid Rock references many of the great oldies as his influence. Anyway, heaven help Todd when something happens to old George. I know all the words to just about every George Jones song ever written and I ain't afraid to sing loudly : )

I woke up in the night last night with the sensation like that of an alligator clamping down on my left ribcage. I flipped and flopped til I found a position that was comfortable and it kinda went away. All day today, my left arm/hand has been tingly and numb and the alligator bite came back off and on. Unbeknownst to me, the 8 year old is quite wise (literally) in matters of the heart and came uncorked when he found this out. He would not settle down or get off my back until I went to the doctor.

Once there, my miniature coronary specialist told the EMT, the nurse and the doctor about his mother's bad habits - namely smoking, working at the computer day and night, not exercising, etc. (I did not know my child could channel Alwin so well). After some poking, prodding, and listening it was determined that stress is causing my muscles to inflame thereby pinching nerves and if I keep it up I'll be fortunate enough to feel pain everywhere. Wheeeeeee!!!

A round of anti-inflammatory stuff, something to help me sleep and some physical therapy are in order. I can do those. The cutting drastically back on the stress, learning to relax and seeing the eye doctor about my headaches... hmmmm... not so sure about those. Nowhere I can see to eliminate the stress, relaxing is not something I do well, and glasses??? Maybe after the plumbing is paid off.

At any rate, Christopher no longer thinks I'll be dead by morning but is now riding my butt about doing the stretches she told me to start and he's trying to reschedule my life for me. Aren't kids great???

It's almost 1AM and I'm waiting for Todd to get home from work. His schedule originally said he had today off. It would have been his first weekend day off since last fall. Of course I got all excited about that prospect only to find they'd changed it to a 12 hour shift. If we don't start getting some normal time together soon I may just crack up.

I've been seeing references to the colorgenics profile around the web. I first tried that over a year ago when I was damn happy about everything and was amazed at the results. Just for kicks I took it again today and was blown away once more. That's me in a nutshell... nothing going right, thinking negative, severe stress. I am sticking to my tried and true method of breaking out of the negative. Be kind to others and the universe will regain balance again. It is just taking a bit longer than normal this time.
