Thursday Threesome

Onesome: Eat: What one food do you love so much that you could easily overeat (be specific here)? Spaghetti or practically anything from Chi-Chis.

Twosome: Drink: What on beverage do you drink more than anything? Water. I used to only drink Pepsi. Now I only drink water.

Threesome: Be Merry: When life has you down, what one thing can remind you to smile? Hmmm... I can't think of any one thing that always works. I usually have to flip through memories until I happen upon one that does the trick.

Christopher had his first brush with celebrity today. Jason Parkin, a meteorologist with KCCI in Des Moines, visited his classroom today. That's all I've heard about since he got home. "Jason's on TV. Jason chases tornadoes. Jason plays basketball." Yeah, but can he accurately forecast snow?? I should've told C. to ask him if he was responsible for getting my hopes up about our last "major snowfall" (the one that didn't even cover the grass). I'll forgive their waaaayyy off snowfall estimates so long as they continue to warn me when it's time to bail into the closet.

Clicking on a random link at the pepys project led me to this site. I have no earthly idea what it says but it sure sounds pretty. It would be cool if every country/state/province were listed. Asher, you need to fire up that blog again and add yourself to this project so Pakistan is represented.

The elementary principal called tonight and said she wanted to talk to me about Christopher. She said they pick one student each week who is doing an excellent job and call that kid's parents to let them know. She just wanted me to know how great C. was, that he studied very hard, did very good work and that he was a super role model for the other students. Amazing considering the genetic material he has to work with. I was always in trouble at his age for talking too much. His dad was (and still is) a big showoff. I'm pretty sure no one ever called our parents to tell them how great we were.

Anyway, after she finished telling me what an awesome kid I had, I said "He's working on his homework right now." He had no idea who I was talking to but heard me say homework and he pipes up "Whoever that is tell them I'm doing extra studying and I HATE IT!!" She heard this of course and asked if he knew who I was speaking to. He didn't so I said "I'm talking to your principal." The look on his face as it hit the ground was priceless.
