I am up and working before Spoofee even realizes it's a new day.

I've been up since 3am. Having nicotine fits as if it were day one. I can really see why people just give up and go back to smoking. It's so hard. If it weren't 6 degrees and dark outside, I'd be at Casey's right now. Pack of Marlboro Light 100s in a box, please. Luckily for me, I can always find a good excuse not to go make that purchase and the craving will pass.

Big worm spreading fast. As always, keep your virus software uptodate and be careful with attachments. I've gotten this one 32 times in the last hour and a half.

It's creepy starting work this early in the morning. Too quiet and way too dark. I think my brain works better when the birds are singing and the cat and dog are running through the house.

Most of you know that my job is actually in Boston and that I telecommute each day. I've never been there but I can tell you most of the surrounding communities, the main roads, zip codes and phone prefixes. Sometimes I think it might be cool to live there and then I hear what they pay for a parking spot. A few months ago someone tried to steal my coworkers car from the work parking lot. Messed up her window and steering column. Tonight, someone did get my boss' car. He's more upset about the ipod that was in it then anything else. I'd be so pissed at the whole notion.

Todd wears a uniform more than half the time and therefore doesn't need a lot of jeans or dress pants. He used to have a pair of "tactical" pants that he wore to gun schools and law enforcement seminars that were nice enough to double to family dinners or funeral visitations. He has gained a little weight (haven't we all?!) and those pants don't fit anymore. With the holidays coming up and the chance to "dress up" approaching, I've been looking at pants he'd find acceptable.

Found some at 511 tactical that are almost exactly like what he had. I am not sure what "''Billy Goat'' Tactical Canvas" is or how heavy it would be but they do look the same.

How funny! Todd just came in and I was showing him the Surefire flashlights. He looked at the page and said "Hey, 511 Tactical is who makes my pants!' So I guess I was closer than I thought!

The short version of why I've been absent from this space: I moved to Texas. I now work with the EuroNato Joint Jet Pilot Training Program and I love it so much. The family stayed behind while I see if this is a fit for me. So far it absolutely is. I am so thankful to be a part of the support services for our military. I'm a tree hugger by nature and hate war but when I pull into the parking lot every morning and see "my guys" working towards defending our country from the sky, it makes me tear up.
